The WGR Leadership Institute was designed by Women in Government Relations (WGR) to give unique insights and perspectives on the inner workings of Congress. This year's series will feature six classes that will examine congressional procedure by focusing on procedures used by Members of Congress in the House and Senate as well as an in-depth view of the budget and appropriations process.
Committee Procedure - February 19, 2010
Congressional committees formulate legislative language through various procedures in sub- and full- committee. Learn about bill referral strategies, mark-ups, committee politics, the role of the chairman and ranking member along with an overview of committee staff roles in committee proceedings.
